I am thrilled to announce the official release of our CD, entitled “Shabbat Sing!” This CD is meant to bring the joy of our Shabbat music into the homes of all our young children. We hope you will enjoy listening and singing along.

Anyone who has ever experienced Shabbat Sing with our Gan knows how joyous and uplifting it is to welcome Shabbat with the voices of our youngest children. Every week, students, teachers, family members, and Adas staff join in an exuberant community event singing songs of Shabbat and our holidays.

Our children are blessed to sing with many wonderful leaders, all who bring their own gifts and styles to the Shabbat Sing sessions, Tot Shabbat, music classes, or sing-along sessions that they lead. This CD includes songs sung by Caron Dale, Robyn Helzner, Menuhah Peters, Rabbi Ben Shalva, and myself. I happen to think that the very best part of the CD is the 60 voice choir of students age 2-12 who participated in a recording session!

CDs are available in the Gan office and the Adas Israel gift shop for a suggested $15 donation to the Toby Cutler Shabbat Sing Fund.

~Cantor Arianne Brown

Dedicated to Toby Cutler

Toby Cutler felt that music was an extraordinary gift. The highlight of Toby’s week was listening to children singing timeless Shabbat melodies at Adas Israel’s Shabbat Sing, with her grandchildren among the singers. These voices brought a smile to her face and welcomed the weekly miracle of Shabbat. This CD, funded by Toby’s friends and family in her memory, will be an everlasting reminder of the joyful sounds of Shabbat and of the role that Adas Israel’s Gan serves in nurturing the love of Judaism. We hope you enjoy these songs as much as Toby did!

Braided challah – what a sight! Good Shabbos to you.

We will celebrate the day, we will rest and we will play,
Shabbos prayers for us to say – good Shabbos to you!

4. The Shabbat Angels

by unknown – Cantor Arianne Brown

The Shabbat angels are peeking through the windows As we all light the candles, and
everyone’s at home. Shabbat shalom, and everyone’s at home.

The Shabbat angels are peeking through the windows As we all say the Kiddush, and
everyone’s at home. Shabbat shalom, and everyone’s at home.

The Shabbat angels are peeking through the windows As we all wash yadayim, and
everyone’s at home. Shabbat shalom, and everyone’s at home.

The Shabbat angels are peeking through the windows As we all say hamotsi, and
everyone’s at home. Shabbat shalom, and everyone’s at home.
